Vote for KONY 2012

[youtube width=”900″ height=”530″ video_id=”9Ve3_ziWAIM”]

BY MATTEO MANZINI Kony 2012 is a documentary film produced by Invisible Children Inc. The video can be watched on YOUTUBE and VIMEO and its goal is that of making people aware of the crimes committed by Joseph Kony and his group, the Lord’s Resistance Army, guilty of numerous atrocities in Uganda, mainly against children, who are tortured, reduced to slavery and forced to become killers too… compelling them to kill their parents! Kony 2012 focuses on the personal experience of Jason Russell, one of the leaders of the association Invisible Children Inc. and on his meeting with an Ugandan child, Jacob. The documentary film briefly shows Kony’s crimes and aims at capturing the attention of the medias across the globe, in order to push for Governments and convince them to take measures against this Ugandan rebel killer. The documentary proposes the 20th of April as the worldwide day of this campaign. The viral effect created by this video is mainly due to its emotional content. It focuses on our intimate feelings, it stimulates anger, sadness, joy, surprise and stir. In front of the video Jacob says: “I want to die now as I don’t have a future”. Let’s share and support this campaign and take the chance to know more about this country that has forgotten the meaning of the word humanity for years now. Let’s try and understand the reasons behind this terrible genocide. Maybe then we will believe in the good intentions of this documentary film or maybe we will feel the urge to become bearers of this message too…. making people aware of this atrocity that cannot get off scot-free.
