ra i tanti dubbi esistenziali che stuzzicano il mio intelletto, ce n’è uno che proprio non mi fa dormire: la frangia. Quando prendi in considerazione di tagliare il ciuffo, valuti attentamente pro e contro. E nonostante le avversità superino i vantaggi, portare una frangia è un piacere che tutte –prima o poi, almeno una volta nella vita – si concedono. Ma perché la frangia cresce in modo inverosimile solo fino a che non le imponi di ridiventare ciuffo? Se ricopre il ruolo di protagonista, lei fa il suo dovere: cresce. È fatta di capelli, che altro dovrebbe fare? E non puoi negare l’evidenza, perché è anche la sola speranza a cui ti aggrappi quando ti sbagliano un taglio e ti dicono #DaiSmettiDiPiangereCheTantoPoiICapelliRicresono. Ma quando le imponi il ruolo di comparsa, questa si incazza. Lotta per mantenere la sua posizione dimostrandoti che anche lei ha voce in capitolo e smette di crescere. Smette per farti capire che non sarà facile liberarti di lei, perché nessuno può mettere baby in un angolo! Lei vince sempre e a te non resta altro che metterci una pietra sopra – o una bella fascia – e aspettare il tempo che lei ritiene necessario per uscire di scena.
Among the many existential doubts that arouse my intellect, there is one that makes me sleepless: the fringe. Whenever you take into consideration cutting your forelock you balance pros and cons. Nevertheless, adversities surpass advantages, wearing a fringe is like a pleasure that anyone – sooner or later, but at least once in a lifetime – allows him/her-self. But why would a fringe grow unbelievably faster than a forelock would?…Until you don’t dictate it to turn back to forelock? If the fringe is protagonist, it will do its job: it WILL grow. It’s made of hair, what else should it do? And… you cannot deny the obvious, since hope is what you hang to when your haircut is done the wrong way and they tell you #StopCryingPleaseYourHairWillGrowBack but when you tell it to grow back… it goes mental. It fights to maintain its position by showing you it has no say in the matter and… it simply stops growing. It does it on purpose, to let you know you can’t get rid of it, nobody puts baby in a corner! It will always be a winner and you can only give up – or put a nice hair band on– and wait until it decides it is time to bow out.
