Seasons mean nothing but virtual periods to divide the SOLAR year.. And how to divide it? In an astronomical way, with the weather and with what we have in our closet. With astronomy no problems at all, the interval of time between an equinox and a solstice is a season: 4 intervals, 4 seasons……a 4 season pizza nothing else! Weather, instead, also takes into consideration the climate of a place that changes throughout the year, it does not coincide with astronomy but both of them, someway somehow, are in perfect harmony with the closet. Exactly like the earth that, while rotating around its axis changes its exposure to heat, sun and light, clothes “light up” and “tone down” depending on the season… Translation: lively colours in summer, softened hues in winter. A real migration that does not bother only birds… And so I wonder: Why, even if we refer to the SOLAR year, are we not solar throughout the year itself? And why this “toning down” must affect children’s clothes too? I’ve realised that their shades are dim too, children dress like mothers do, and what if the mother is lively and coloured? We don’t care about blue, grey and black coats… we have the colour block…and we’ll “adjust fire” with colourful accessories. We are “California girls” all year long and we bring the sun with us!
