Una buona ragione per volare a Londra? Trovata! Una visita al Victoria and Albert Museum e, in particolare, alla sezione dedicata alla moda italiana: The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014, che rimarrà aperta al pubblico fino al 27 luglio. Una mostra che racchiude un periodo storico, dalla fine del secondo dopoguerra fino ad oggi, rappresentato dalle creazioni di grandi stilisti: Valentino, Armani, Gucci, Missoni, Pucci, Versace, Moschino, Fendi, Prada, Capucci e da quelle di nuovi talenti che raccontano il nostro presente. “Il mondo della moda è sempre desideroso di freschezza, di eccitante originalità che l’Italia oggi offre. Questa domanda ha portato alla nascita di un nuovo gruppo di designer italiani, finora noti solo agli italiani aristocratici e ai saggi stranieri della moda che visitano l’Europa“. E immaginerete che la vera ragione che mi ha condotto fino a qui, ha un nome: Fausto Puglisi, l’esempio perfetto di quell’eccitante originalità descritta da Giovanni Battista Giorgini nell’introduzione del libro dedicato a questa esposizione. Entro in una delle sale e il manichino che veste una delle sue combinazioni è davanti ai miei occhi, all’estrema destra, e condivide lo stesso spazio con un’altra creazione di amici, Domenico Dolce e Stefano Gabbana, i primi che hanno creduto in questo giovane ragazzo dagli occhi pieni di vita e di voglia di arrivare. Un manichino che diventa testimone di uno stile fatto di volumi, tagli e ricami che lo ha reso unico nel panorama della moda internazionale. E anche se non mi è stato possibile fotografarlo, ciò che indosso oggi, ugualmente rappresenta la passione e le emozioni di Fausto, ogni cosa lui tocchi diventa SORPRENDENTE .

A good reason to fly to London? Got it! A visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum and, in particular, to the section dedicated to Italian fashion: The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014, open to the public until July 27. An exhibition that is an overview of the years between the end of the of the second world war to date, represented by the creations of the most famous designers such as  Valentino, Armani, Gucci, Missoni, Pucci, Versace, Moschino, Fendi, Prada, Capucci as well as new talents telling the story of today’s fashion. “The fashion world is always eager for the fresh, exciting originals that Italy offers today. This demand has led to the rise of a new group of Italian designers, heretofore known only to those Italian aristocracy and fashion wise foreigners visiting Europe”. And you can well imagine that the true reason that has brought me here has a name: Fausto Puglisi, the perfect example of that exciting originals as said by Giovanni Battista Giorgini in the introduction to the book dedicated to this exhibition. I go in and the dressmaker’s model wearing one of his styles is before my eyes, on the right, sharing the space with another fabulous creation by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the first ones who have believed in this young guy, in his sparkling eyes and with a strong will to make it. A model that becomes the symbol of a style made of special volumes, cuts and embroideries that have made it unique in the scenario of International fashion. And even if I couldn’t take a photo of it, my today’s outfit represents, in the same way, Fausto’s passion and emotions and everything he touches becomes AMAZING.
