L’undicesima edizione di Who Is On Next?, il prestigioso progetto di talent scouting nato dalla collaborazione tra Altaroma e Vogue Italia con lo scopo di sostenere il made in Italy, ricercando e promuovendo i nuovi talenti creativi, si è conclusa con la vittoria di Luca Sciascia. Il teatro riveste un ruolo fondamentale nel percorso formativo dello stilista, che studia scenografia all’Accademia delle Belle Arti per poi specializzarsi all’Istituto Europeo di Design in Fashion & Textile design. Sperimenta le sue doti artistiche tramite la realizzazione di copricapi per le collezioni ETRO SS 2005 womanswear e menswear e le parrucche per i principali teatri lirici e di prosa, sia italiani che Europei, accostando materiali eterogenei. Il 2014 segna la svolta per il giovane talento, nasce il marchio che porta il suo nome, un ambizioso progetto permeato dall’ormai inconfondibile stile poliedrico del designer e dal suo forte potere immaginifico. Ciò che maggiormente colpisce nella collezione FW 2015 2016 di Luca Sciascia è la contaminazione di stili diversi, che riecheggiano a culture e a contesti spazio-temporali lontani. Chiaro è il richiamo alla space age, quello stile nato intorno al 1969, l’anno dello sbarco sulla luna con Apollo 11. Il metallizzato, l’argento, i colori cerulei, che si ispirano al glaciale paesaggio lunare, donano un allure grintosa e di tendenza. L’influenza del mood “fantascienza” emerge anche dalle forme lineari a tratti geometriche. Le reminiscenze nipponiche permeano l’intera collezione, costellata di blouse con maniche kimono, e si fondono ad accostamenti di volume inediti, come pantaloni skinny. Lo stilista mixa sapientemente tagli moderni e comodi a tessuti preziosi, in cui il jacquard goffrato arricchisce abiti dotati di un eleganza pulita e sofisticata. Tessuto tecnico ed ecopelle riportano la donna di Sciascia ad una quotidianità estremamente giovane e a una consapevolezza dell’originalità dello stile che interpreta. Un attitude contemporanea dalla linea facilmente portabile in grado di vestire un pubblico femminile anticonformista e attento a quei materiali ricercati che solo il Made in Italy può offrire.
The eleventh edition of Who Is On Next?, the most renowned talent scouting project created in partnership between Altaroma and Vogue Italia aiming at supporting the Made in Italy with the research and promotion of new creative talents, saw Luca Sciascia as the winner. Theatre has a key role in the creative path of the designer who studied design setting at the Accademia delle Belle Arti and took a majoring at the European Institute of Design in Fashion & Textile design. He experimented his artistic flair creating hats and hair accessories for the ETRO SS 2005 womanswear and menswear collections as well as wigs for the most important Italian and European theatre shows. The year 2014 marked the turning point for this young designer, he created his own brand, an ambitious project characterized by the polyhedral style of the designer and by his extraordinary visionary power. The most striking feature of Luca Sciascia’s FW 2015 2016 collection is the merging of different styles evoking far-away times and lands. There is a clear reference to the space age, the style created in 1969, the year of Apollo 11 moon landing. Metalized fabrics, silver, sidereal colours inspired by the lunar landscape give a captivating and cutting-edge allure. The influence of the “sci-fi” mood also emerges in the linear almost geometrical shapes. The Japan hint features the entire collection with kimono blouses mixed with original combinations such as skinny trousers. The designer wisely blends modern and comfortable cuts with precious fabrics such as pleated jacquard and enriches dresses who take on a clean and sophisticated elegance. Technical textiles and patent leather bring Sciascia’s woman back to the modern age, for a fresh daily look with an original style.
