Shopping spree: MEN VS WOMEN

CREM BLOG

Strangely enough sometimes I think about the infinite universe…mine: that is to say shopping! And why shouldn’t we compare it to other two important universes? Men shopping VS Women shopping…and this case too, the two universes are extremely different. Looking at the two divided shopping sections at Bergdorf Goodman department stores, split into two buildings, the women one is more cheerful, colourful and exciting than the men section, everything takes on a new atmosphere and I don’t think this is only due to the strategic lighting system but the soul of HER who lights up when she gets in, SHE shines and sets off…HE, instead would like to “set off” something else: her head, like a bomb, but he gives in and accepts to wait for her as if he was a whale ashore, on the sofa not to welcome customers but other men, like him, who are exhausted and frustrated by the hesitation of their wives or girlfriends. SHE doesn’t get in with a clear idea and even if she thinks she has got one and decides to focus on something specific, she is lying! If she’s looking for a big day bag, she will end up buying a small evening clutch and she’ll be happy as she’ll have satisfied her desire: something she doesn’t really need but able to glamorize her at best. Clothing and accessories have been showcased by an evil spirit with the precise goal of seducing women..and nine times out of ten this happens! HE has his shortcomings, we know damn well, but not that of being able to shop by himself, he is good at this. When he decides to let her recommend something, he is just bluffing, he won’t buy anything but he wants her to believe the contrary. HE gets into a shop and he’s so at ease, SHE chases him, she hunts him down, she would like to see him going crazy for something hanged in the store but this never happens and she can’t figure out why, she keeps on chasing him, stamping her feet to show her impatience, then she reluctantly accepts on that day she won’t see him using any credit card at all. When men play it hard, they act under a false identity as if secret agents, they don’t tell anybody they’re going shopping, he goes to his only beloved shop, he is not lured by clothing and accessories and only buys what he really needs, that’s why men fashion stores are not exciting! My conclusion, dear friends? I’ve formulated a theory, another one yes, shopping was born to seduce women and women were born to seduce men…and to be able to do this they need shopping, they need something able to glamorize them at best ;-)!
