Nella mia testa e nel mio cuore quell’aereo per lasciare New York  non è mai decollato…pur essendo felice di essere tornata e di aver ripreso con tutto ciò che fa parte della mia vita, di cui non cambierei una virgola, continuo a pensare a lei, al suo fascino che contagia ogni cosa sia passata davanti ai miei occhi. Frase fatta: mai dire addio, ma solo arrivederci…e un grazie gigantesco…grazie per il panorama meraviglioso, grazie per il sandwich con gelato più buono che abbia mai mangiato, grazie per le nuotate in piscina in cui più volte ho visto il sole tramontare, lasciandomi senza fiato. Grazie per avermi dato la bella abitudine di mettere i guanti prima di uscire e di avermi fatto tornare bambina una volta entrata da Fao Schwarz. Potrei continuare a ringraziarti all’infinito e forse neanche questo sarebbe abbastanza…Prometto di tornare presto ad abbracciarti, ma la prossima volta ti porterò anche le mie due piccoli pesti che hanno proprio voglia di conoscerti! Ciao Grande Mela, spero che i miei scatti ti rendano la giustizia che meriti…

In my head and in my heart that flight to leave New York has never taken off…I am happy to be back to my daily life, of which I’d never change anything, yet I keep on thinking of it, of its charm able to affect everything before your eyes. A famous saying recites: never say goodbye, say see you soon…and a big thank…thanks for the marvellous landscape, thanks for the most delicious ice-cream sandwich I’ve ever tasted, thanks for my swimming in the pool from where I’ve seen fabulous, breath-taking sunsets. Thanks for the good rule to wear gloves before going out, thanks for having revived my child’s dreams at Fao Schwarz. I could go on with infinite thanks and perhaps it wouldn’t be enough…I promise I’ll come back soon but next time I’ll bring my two brats who are looking forward to meeting you!
