The Carrie Diaries

Be who you want to become…Keep calm and CARRIE on!

There are people who can’t stand the fact that Sex and the City’s girls are not “girls” anymore now. A TV series that has become a cult, then, four years after the end of the series a movie to tell what has happened next… A world preview that nobody of us would have ever missed. As for me, when the film was released I was in the ninth month of pregnancy, Carola was just perfect… she was born the following day, after having let me watch it with my girls. In 2010, the second movie was released but that time didn’t go so well… the most critical, perhaps afraid of a third film, harshly slated it… fearing the possibility to see the fantastic four struggling with wheel chairs and oxygen masks, but the truth is that there are still al lot of us who love the girls and what to do not to leave us empty-handed? A quick selection of the latest books by Candace Bushnell, the author of Sex and the City, to choose…the most suitable one, let’s say, and create something new…a new Carrie starring AnnaSophia Robb. “The Carrie Diaries” is the new TV series that is on from January 14 2013 in the USA, a sort of “our good old days” or, better, “Carrie’s good old days”…our favourite in 1984. A high school girl who wants to become a writer and dreams of living in New York… A guy, Sebastian Kydd, a competitor, Donna La Donna, a guide who will change her life forever, Larissa Loughton, and three friends: Maggie, Jill and Walt who seem to be the forerunners of her future companions…Samantha, Charlotte and Stanford. The producers have stressed the fact that the TV series is not Sex and City’s prequel, as it tells new and different events of Carrie’s past, a sort of placebo to take this sense of melancholy off us. Be who you want to become…Keep calm and CARRIE on!.
