DI MATTEO MANZINI Un altra storia di vampiri… un altro remake? Ebbene si! Soprattutto se si tratta del connubbio Johnny Depp e Tim Burton! “DARK SHADOW” un horror movie molto più incline alla commedia, atmosfere lugubri, tetre, creepy, oscure… ma estremamente POP! Tim Burton, il regista di “Alice in Wonderland”, prende spunto dall’omonima soap opera ABC degli anni ’60 in cui si narrano le vicende di Barnabas Collins, playboy trasformato in vampiro nel lontano 1752 da una strega, interpretata da Eva Green, a cui ha spezzato il cuore. Barnabas si risveglia improvvisamente nel 1972 e scopre che tutto ciò che aveva, casa compresa, è nelle mani dei suoi pronipoti, tra i quali spuntano Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, moglie del regista, e Chloe Moritz per citarne alcuni… che vivono in una situazione familiare che definire disfunzionale è un eufemismo. Come se non bastasse la strega Angelica Bouchard è tornata a regolare i conti e quando il gioco si fa duro…Barnabas tira fuori…i canini! Personalmente non vedo l’ora che esca!!!

Especially when it’s Johnny Depp and Tim Burton! “DARK SHADOW” a comedy horror filled with dark humour, lugubrious and gloomy atmospheres, creepy dark characters but….absolutely POP! Tim Burton, the filmmaker of “Alice in Wonderland”, bases his movie around an ABC television gothic soap opera of the’60s with the same name. The story centers around Barnabas Collins, a swinger transformed into a goofy vampire by a broken-hearted witch, played by Eva Green, in the late 1752. Barnabas somehow manages to sleep over a couples of centuries to wake up in 1972 and find out, that everything he owned, grand estate included, now belongs to his descendants, among which Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, the director’s wife, and Chloe Moritz to mention a few… A pretty weird family harboring dark secrets which could be defined with an euphemism as “dysfunctional”. On top of that the witch Angelica Bouchard is back to kill him for good When the going gets tough…Barnabas ‘s fangs get going…! I personally can’t wait to watch it!!!
