“C’è un treno che parte alle 7,40…”

 …e arriva a Parigi carico della collezione autunno inverno Louis Vuitton, quasi a volerci ricordare le origini del marchio: la valigeria, che nella sfilata ricopre un ruolo principale. In un’atmosfera anni ’20, ogni modella scende dalla carrozza con un facchino al seguito. E’ un gioco di sovrapposizioni luminose, quello che ci propone Marc Jacobs, tra ampi cappotti, lunghe gonne, pantaloni a sigaretta. Cappelli voluminosi, bottoni gioiello, fantasie colorate e alte zeppe sono i caratteri distintivi. Qualcuno sussurra che questa possa essere l’ultima sfilata di Marc a casa Vuitton, qualcuno gli affibbia il ruolo di nuovo direttore creativo per Dior… e ricorda al designer di New York che più che un Orient Express, il suo treno ricorda forse più un Diorient Express, una locomotiva già usata da John Galliano per la haute couture Dior nel 1998. Non ci resterà che aspettare per sapere come andrà finire…

…and Louis Vuitton fall winter collection lands in Paris, reminding us of the origins of the French brand: leather goods, that play a central role in the runway show. In an atmosphere typical of the 20s, models get down from a carriage with an entourage of lackeys. A play of overlapping light effects is offered by Marc Jacobs, wide coats, long skirts, cigarette pants, big hats, precious buttons, coloured patterns and high wedges are the distinctive traits. There are rumours that this could be the last Marc Jacobs show at Vuitton, some say that he’ll be the next fashion designer at Dior… others remind the New York-based designer that his Orient Express train looks like a Diorient Express, a locomotive already used by John Galliano for his Dior haute couture show in 1998. We can do nothing but wait to know how it will go…
