“I fans possono renderti famoso, un contratto può renderti ricco, la stampa può farti diventare una stella, ma solo l’AMORE può renderti un giocatore!” Questo è scritto all’inizio del video “Give me all your luvin'”, e sicuramente Madonna la sua “partita” a San Siro l’ha giocata alla grande, ma è certa di averci dato tutto i suo amore? Martin Solveig, il DJ francese di house music, si esibisce puntualissimo dalle 20 alle 21, Madonna, invece, si fa attendere…il concerto inizia poco prima delle 22. La vedo passare sotto gli spalti, preceduta dai ballerini e seguita dai figlioli. Una scaletta di 22 canzoni per quasi due ore di spettacolo. Apre le danze con “Girl Gone Wild”, seguita da “Revolver” e Gang Bang, Madonna usa la seconda traccia dell’album per attirare l’attenzione, esibendosi in una scena splatter, ambientata in una stanza di motel, che pare diretta da Quentin Tarantino. Un piccolo accenno a “Papa Don’t Preach”, poi “Hung up”, “I Don’t Give A”, dove compaiono le prime immagini del nuovo video con Nichi Minaj, “Best Friend” ed una “Express Yourself” – “Born this way”, un voluto mash-up per rivendicare l’autenticità della sua canzone plagiata da Lady Gaga. Cambio d’abito e torna ad essere la cheerleader di “Give me all your luvin’”; a seguire un mix velocissimo di brani iconici: “Like a Virgin”, “Ray of light”, Music, ma lascerà spazio solo ad una di questa, la prima, e solo dopo averci salutato con un “Ciao” e cantato “Turn up the Radio”, “Open your heart”, ” Masterpiece”, “Justify my love”. Il pubblico impazzisce sulle note dell’immancabile “Vogue”, con coreografie pazzesche che la folla contagiata tenta di imitare. “Candy Shop” si intreccia ad “Erotica” seguita dal videoclip “Human Nature”, uno dei più iconici e rappresentativi della carriera della cantante, un modo per dichiarare ai suoi fans, ancora una volta, di non avere rimpianti. Eccola finalmente la sua “Like a Virgin”…una quiet version eseguita solo con voce e piano… e un ballerino che ha scarsa capacità di rivestirla; viene incoraggiato dal pubblico con un caldo applauso, che a poco servirà…forse questo inghippo gli costerà la decapitazione! Nessuno la conosce, lei è dipendente, lei è una peccatrice… ed è la volta di “Nobody Knows Me”, “I’m Addicted”, “I’m a Sinner” che precedono il gran finale con “Like a Prayer” e “Celebration”. Gli spettatori ancora una volta non resistono, la applaudono, ballano e cantano…lei ringrazia e scompare…Lei è Madonna! “L’AMORE è sopra tutto” è una frase apparsa sul maxi schermo, ma ne è certa? Il suo cuore lo ha aperto davvero? Forse per una donna di tale spettacolo è lo SHOW ad essere sopra tutto!

Martin Solveig, the French house-music DJ, starts his show perfectly on time, he performs from 8 to 9 pm, Madonna, on the contrary, makes the fans wait for her…. the concert practically starts at 10. I see her walking under the stands, preceded by her dancers and followed by her children. 22 songs for almost 2 hours of show. She opens with “Girl Gone Wild”, then “Revolver” and “Gang Bang”, with this song, in particular, Madonna captures the attention with a somehow platter scene, set in a motel, a scene that could have been filmed by Quentin Tarantino. A teaser of “Papa Don’t Preach”, then “Hung up”, “I Don’t Give A”, where the first frames of her new video with Nichi Minaj appear on the stage, “Best Friend” and…. “Express Yourself” – “Born this way”, a deliberate mash-up to claim the rights of the song plagiarized by Lady Gaga. A change of dress and she becomes the cheerleader of “Give me all your luvin’”; followed by a quick mix of iconic tracks: “Like a Virgin”, “Ray of light”, Music, actually, she sings only one of the tracks above, the first one, but only after having performed “Turn up the Radio” “Open your heart”, ” Masterpiece”, “Justify my love”. The fans literally go crazy when she begins to sing “Vogue” with a marvellous choreography that the people try to emulate. “Candy Shop” entwined with “Erotica” and followed by the “Human Nature” video clip, one of the most distinguishing videos of her career, a way to declare, once again, that she has no regrets. And finally, her “Like a Virgin”….a quite version of it, a voice and piano arrangement…. and a dancer who has a poor ability in performing it with his moves; he is spurred by the audience with an applause that will not serve the purpose… perhaps this hitch will sentence him to death by decapitation! Nobody knows her, she is addicted, she is a sinner and it’s time for “Nobody Knows Me”, “I’m Addicted”, “I’m a Sinner” leading the way to the grand finale with “Like a Prayer” and “Celebration”. The fans can’t resist, they cheer, they dance and sing with her…. she says Thank You and disappears…She is Madonna! “LOVE is beyond everything” is the phrase that appears on the maxi-screen but…is she sure of it? Did she really open her heart? Perhaps for a superstar like she is, the SHOW is beyond everything!
